DISB Places Cabina America under Restrictive Order
Cabina America Insurance, an RRG licensed by DISB, has been placed under restrictive order, arising out of an insurance agent being charged with fraud. DISB Commissioner Thomas E. Hampton highlights this case to emphasize the importance of effective regulation in the fight against fraud.

DISB Implements District's New Captive Insurance Laws
DISB's Risk Finance Bureau met with captive insurance representatives to discuss the implementation of the protected cell legislation recently enacted into law.

Commissioner Hampton Welcomes NASAA to the District
On behalf of the host city and Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, DISB Commissioner welcomed attendees to the 22nd annual NASAA Spring Conference's Public Policy Forum.

DISB Collaborates With WDCEP
DISB met with the Washington, DC Economic Partnership to explore ways to leverage each other's resources to advance the District's economic development priorities.

Enforcement Action Against DISB-Licensed Money Transmitter
DISB's Hearing Officer entered a default judgment and order of revocation of a money transmitter's license, and a fine for $7,450.

DISB Offers Information and Assistance to Businesses and Residents Affected by Fires
In early May, DISB offered assistance to District residents and businesses affected by fires that destroyed two historic landmarks, Eastern Market and Georgetown Neighborhood Library, and 12 homes.

DISB to Work With Other Government Agencies on Consumer Protection Initiatives
DISB will work with the Office of the Attorney General and other government agencies on a series of consumer protection initiatives to address many of the problems highlighted in the report, "The High Cost of Being Poor in the District of Columbia."
